Here you go!

This is going to cost me

I tried posting this last night and it didn't go through. One more time. Here is the current news on my cars. It's a pain going to the DMV and I go there alot but this car is making me pull my hair. First I had to get the trailer and this trailer was not registered so I had to register it and pay some fees and fines. Then I had to take it and have it verified to get a VIN# , well I got all that done.

A few days ago I went to U-Haul to buy the correct Pintle hook that connects the trailer to the hitch of my truck. Now I have to look for a place to buy the correct connection to connect the wiring to my truck, this is important since the trailer has electric brakes which make stopping easier.

Well now I have to face the hard part, getting to get the burnt car registered. Since I took the car from the streets I have no paperwork also since the car is burnt it has no VIN# visible since all the aluminum melted. The DMV wont verify the VIN# of the car until it is in running condition. They said I had to have it done and then they would check it out but wait! Why would I invest my time and money on something that is not under my name? The DMV lady said that was a risk I would have to take. I am not taking that risk. If the stars align and the sun shines on me maybe the CHP can verify "my" vehicle without having it running but I have to find some information on the car. I went on the web and finally I found some information on 311.org telling me how to get the VIN# on the chassis but it is very, very well hidden. Tomorrow I will begin dismantling the car and pulling the body off the chassis. Wish me luck!

Roadster???

Well tonight I finally did it. What you ask? Well I RESCUED a little Roadster I have been wanting to restore. Here's the story on this car.

About 1 year ago I went to pick up a vehicle I had just bought and on the way there in an alley I saw this little car sitting there all alone. I went to check out what kind of car it was and noticed it was a Datsun Roadster, a car I had fallen in love with months earlier when I saw one in a junk yard. Well I saw it and I wanted it and I did manage to find the owner after 6 months. Well, I don't know if he really was the owner, he said I could have it for 800 bucks but I was a little cautious since I didn't know for sure if he was the "real" owner. Well I had a school and a life and the car slip my mind until a couple of weeks ago.

I went to check it out a couple of weeks ago and saw that it was completely burnt!!! Ahhhhhh! One more thing though, the alley where it was at ,was fenced off. Great! I went there today with tools and called a friend, which has a tow truck, and took the car. HAHAHAH , all mineeeeeeeee. It was a pain to get it but it will be worth it. Ok, well on Friday I will put some tires and tow it to the local DMV to have it registered and placed under my name. Wish me luck. Here are some pictures.

My resources

BOOK #1 _CARS 1930-2000 The birth of the Modern Car by Nick Georgano,Micharl Sedgwick and Bengt Ason Holm . This book talks about the history of cars and it tells us why cars changed over the years. It tells you how imports became popular after the oil crisis in the 70's. This is a great book filled with information I never new about.

BOOK #2_Car Collectors Handbook by Peter Sessler in a book that gives you information on what to buy, how to find it, and basic restoration tips. It's nice to know he grew up in the 60's and he states that he loves cars that were made in 1969. I am guessing that bring him back to his good ol' days. This is what I am talking about people. Even though I wasn't born in the 60's I always remember my dad talking about his 68' Camaro RS that he loves and one day it was stolen. He tells me that the police found it but it was completely stripped. One day I will buy that car for him. When I get the money of coarse.

Internet_ I will use the internet to gather information I cannot find on these books. Since information on the internet is faster and updated everyday it is more informative to me. Websites such as 311.net and datsun web sites are very informative and carry the original books that were made on the original roadsters.

2:21am

I'm still awake getting some cars online and getting their paper work ready. I bought another car today and I already had an offer for twice of what I bought it for. Not bad, here it is. It's a 1993 Toyota MR2 non Turbo. I would get more money for it if it was a turbo. I also got a 1995 Honda Civic, I am kinda putting of getting my dream car, why? I am making money with the money I was going to spend on my dream car. It's like interest that I am making on the money, it's a bit better than the bank. Ok here is a picture. For those of you who have parents who pay for your stuff, LUCKY! I have to work like a dog for mine, I guess I'm a better person for earning what I have. Alright. Good Morning, see you guys in class.

My NEW baby!

So I bought my first ever Datsun Roadster. It is a 1964 beauty, I still do not know what I plan to do with this vehicle. The other roadster that I was going to buy is still waiting for me. I have not picked it up because I told myself I needed to sell at least one car that I am selling before I bought another. I do have the 4500 that the guy wants but I always have to have a cushion in case a rainy day happens to come my way. So for now I have to wait, but I did get a deal on this car. $300 bucks baby and he only lives 5miles from me. I paid him already and will pick it up this weekend when I have more time. Also there is one car that I am still waiting to pick up, maybe I'll do that tonight. The car has been abandoned for years and recently found out it was burnt. As you can guess all the plastic and leather pieces are gone but I can still salvage all the metal. I don't know how long and how much these projects are going to take but I am open to the challenge. Sometimes I think of myself as a hero. When I say the word "hero" I don't mean it like I saved someones life but I saved a car from getting compressed into a 2'x2' block of metal. I saved it from traveling to China and getting melted to become cheap toys or other crap that you may find at Wal-Mart. Alright enough about me, let's get this show on the road. Here are the pictures, enjoy!
