Week 5

I have made up my mind on what I will be writing about for my final. My paper will be about 1960 Datsun Roadsters. I know I said I was facinated by metal, but what else has alot of metal. A car represents and incorporates most materials in the world. From Sand to water, but what interests me more is the shape, the contour of the metal. I am in the process of purchasing a 1969 Roadster, I have already seen it and hopefully by tomorrow I'll have it in my garage. It has been a hectic week with mid-terms and all but the drive to Lancaster was worth it. When I saw the car on Wednesday I knew that baby was for me. Good thing the owner had it covered and good thing it's a desert. I say this because the car shows little to no rust. A plus for me, since all I have to do is put the car back together. It doesn't bother me, since it's less work when it's in pieces. I was still going to strip it down and work on it. I think at 4500 I have a deal, well that's what he wants. I know I'll show up there with my truck and a dolly and 4000 beautiful washingtons and the 69 will be mine. I am posting up a picture of what the car will look like after I am done with her. Funny,,, I was just thinking of some funny license plate I will get. Any ideas? My 3 sources for my paper include; Datsun.org , The encyclopedia of classic cars : a celebration of the motor car from 1945 to 1975 , and some other books that I still need to check out. Wish me luck.

Looks like it will be beautiful. As I said, I have a long-term love affair with the roadster. Never with the ride-burners, but with British and Italian two-seaters from the 50's and 60's. Good luck with her.
